Peer-Review Policy of Trakia Journal of Sciences
General Information
Trakia Journal of Sciences adheres to strict peer-review principles to ensure high quality and reliability of the published materials. Each submitted manuscript undergoes a review process by experts in the relevant field.
Submission of Manuscripts
Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission platform. When submitting a manuscript, authors must ensure that the text meets all the journal's requirements, including formatting, style, and citation.
Initial Compliance Check
Editors perform an initial check of the submitted articles to determine whether they meet the journal’s basic requirements. This includes:
- Checking the format and structure of the manuscript (e.g., whether it complies with the requirements for abstract, keywords, sections, and bibliography).
- Assessing the manuscript's relevance to the thematic areas covered by the journal (e.g., natural sciences, social sciences, and other fields covered by the journal).
- Checking the originality of the content and preventing plagiarism using text similarity detection software – StrikePlagiarism.
Review Process
Single-Blind Peer Review: The review process used in Trakia Journal of Sciences follows the principle of single-blind review. This means that the authors do not know the identity of the reviewers, but the reviewers are aware of the identity of the authors, ensuring objectivity in the evaluation.
Selection of Reviewers: The journal editors select reviewers based on their expertise and experience in the relevant field. We strive to engage reviewers who have up-to-date knowledge and can provide constructive and well-supported feedback.
Expectations for Reviewers
- Objectivity: Reviewers should provide an objective and honest evaluation of the manuscript, based on scientific evidence.
- Confidentiality: The review process is confidential. Reviewers are not permitted to disclose the contents of the manuscript to third parties.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect their evaluation.
Review Results
After the review process, the manuscript may be:
- Accepted without changes
- Accepted with minor revisions
- Accepted with major revisions
- Rejected
The editors inform the authors of the review results, providing constructive feedback and comments from the reviewers.
Resubmission Process
The editors send the review results and recommendations to the authors. If changes are necessary, authors must make the corrections and submit the revised manuscript. In some cases, if the changes are significant, the manuscript may be sent for further review.
